Black Friday Finds

Hello!! I'm back from a week of much needed rest and relaxation. We flew to Chicago for the week to spend Thanksgiving with my in laws. It was so nice to see all of our family and friends! Luke had fun on his first flight, but didn't like the snow too much! (He takes after his mother) God was good to us and gave us a great vacation without any major events! We have SO much to be thankful for this year. We are so thankful for our handsome, little baby boy. He is so much fun! We love you, Luke!

While I was in Northwest Indiana, I had a little Modern Modesty Meet-up so I could meet some of the ladies who I have known for a couple of years only through the internet! It was so nice to meet them face to face!

Modern Modesty has grown more than I have ever imagined and I love being able to minister to thousands of Christian ladies every week. I felt like this graphic shirt fit this "ModMod" Meet-up perfectly. I am definitely living my dream!

My sister in law and I went Black Friday shopping Thursday night, and to our surprise it was totally dead! Barely anyone was out! It was so weird! I got some cognac riding boots from Shoe Carnival for $19.98, some pants for Luke for $6, and I got the oh-so famous leopard cardigan from Target for $13! Since it was 70 degrees here in Florida today, I couldn't wear my boots, but I wore my new cardi! :)

Younique's Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Review

Ok, I have been seeing a million and one posts and groups being started selling these 3D Fiber Lashes and I was like what is this stuff!!?? So, I have a friend that sells it and I asked her what it was all about and she explained it to me, and I finally was like OK, enough looking at the long lashes pictures, I want them! :) So, I finally ordered it, and I love it so much I am writing a review and I did a video on how to do them!

I posted this before and after picture on Facebook yesterday and had tons of ladies asking where they could get some, so I just decided to have a 3-Day Online Lash Party! You can get some at that link for $29! I promise, you will love them! I am a cheapskate, but I finally decided to buy them, and I do NOT regret it! I can NOT do false eyelashes, but these give me the appearance of falsies with no hassle!

Here's a tutorial video on how to apply your 3D Fiber Lashes when you get them! ;) If you're still doubting if they work, watch the video! :) PS. ((I am NOT a make-up artist, nor am I a videographer...lol, so it's a amateur video!))

How to Wear a Blanket Scarf

 photo scarf8.jpg

So, my Zara inspired blanket scarf finally got here yesterday and I've been playing with it ever since! :) I was a tad shocked on how HUGE it really is! I figured I would do a post showing you how to fold it and wear it! Hope you enjoy! ♥

So when I said it was huge, I wasn't lying! It is a LITERAL blanket!

 photo scarf1.jpg

The first step is to fold your scarf into a big triangle like so (it was super windy, sorry for the weirdness!)

 photo scarf2.jpg

Second, you wrap the two ends around your neck and then you're going to tie them one time.

 photo scarf3.jpg

Third, after you tie the ends, you bring them around the front.

 photo scarf4.jpg

Ta-da! This is one way you can wear it! :)

 photo scarf6.jpg

Or, you can do an extra step and tie the ends together and tuck them under the "triangle" and wear it like this:

 photo scarf7.jpg

These are my favorite ways to wear the oh-so famous blanket scarf! (so far) By the way, if you live in a cold state, these are SUPER warm!! :) I will definitely be wearing mine in Chicago next week!

I made a collage of all the steps. Feel free to pin these steps on Pinterest for easy access for later by hovering over the picture and pinning it. :)

You Are A Lady, Embrace It!

As a 25 year-old, I was brought up in a "world" where femininity was not very prevalent. I was taught if I didn't have a career making tons of money, I was a not a successful person. I was taught that I can do anything a man can do, and maybe even better. I was taught that it is not a "job" to stay at home and raise your children. The bad thing about our generation is that these "teachings" are being told to all girls, Christian or not.

I read this in an article, and loved it...

Femininity can be cultivated to reflect your values and priorities. It can communicate enormous self-confidence as well, as you embrace being feminine, and refuse to be ashamed of “acting like a girl.”

Today women aren’t just complementary to men – we’re also frequently in direct competition. However, being feminine doesn’t mean being weak and dependent. It means embracing your identity as a woman. I believe that smart, strong women can be very feminine.

Here's some things I love about being a lady...

1. I love getting to be a help-meet to my husband.

2. I love being able to bring another human life into the world.

3. I love getting to dress up, do my make-up, and my hair. (Poor men will never get that blessing ;) )

4. I love being hospitable and cooking for guests.

5. I love being able to teach younger girls to follow Christ.

I am really burdened to get this feminist mind-set out of the minds of high school girls I teach. I try my best to show them that being a lady is a wonderful thing!

Here is my outfit from today! I got my hair done yesterday. I love the dark auburn!

Freedom & Fashion

With Veteran's Day coming up on Tuesday, we had a special service in church today. My husband and I sang, "God Bless the USA" to honor the Veterans in our church. I love to give thanks to the men who made our country great. They gave so much, some even gave their lives, so that we can live in a free country today. I'm thankful that I can carry my Bible, share my faith, and go to church without getting persecuated like they do in other countries. Be thankful today to live in America, and don't take our freedoms for granted! Talk about Jesus to the people you come in contact with when you're in the checkout line in the store. Pray before you eat at a restaurant. Leave a tract for your waitress. Go soul-winning. Be glad you're free! ♥

Now for the "fashion" part of the post! I love following style challenges on instagram, I get so many more outfits out of my closet!

Today's outfit was patriotic! I always have fun finding new ways to wear red, white, and blue!

Fall is Finally Here!

Oh my word, a cold front came in and it is SOOOO cold here! (Yes, 50s is freezing to us Floridians!) So I actually got to bust out my scarves, tights and sweaters! :) I have tons of winter clothes thanks to my many years in Chicago and Oregon, but haven't really gotten to wear them very much in the past 2 years being in the South. So, I get a tad excited when it gets cold, because that means I get to pull out more clothes to wear!

This dress is actually a short sleeve dress, but for some reason I think it looks wintery, so I always bring it out on cold days with some tights and a sweater. Another trick to stretch your wardrobe is to wear your neutral dresses year round, and when it gets cold add a sweater/jacket, tights, and boots! :)

Dress: TJMaxx
Tights: Goodwill
Shoes: Sears
Sweater: H&M

I love patterned tights! They are so much fun!

Luke had such a fun time trick or treating for the first time! He was batman, but it was too cold for that costume, so he changed into Tigger :)

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! God Bless ♥
