27 Weeks: Navy & Coral

I finally made it to the 3rd trimester!! Only 13 weeks left!!!! Honestly, I don't mind being pregnant, the only thing I really get annoyed about, is not being able to wear my regular clothes. I hate being limited!! I used to de-stress by going shopping, now I get stressed when I go shopping...It's definitely not easy to find cute maternity clothes. Most make you look like a blimp, or are not cute at all. Yes, I'm whining. :) I am SO ready to go shopping and be able to shop at every store, not just Motherhood!

Speaking of Motherhood, I found this dress at Motherhood on the sale rack for $16 dollars because one of the little belt loops was not attached! I fixed that, thank you very much Motherhood "AS-IS" rack! :) I'd been eyeballing this dress for a couple of months, but wasn't going to pay $34 for it.. (Yes, I'm that cheap!) So, when I found it, I was ecstatic! My husband really likes it on me too, so that makes me happy too!

26 Weeks: Lime & Navy

I can't believe I'm already in my last week of the second trimester! I'm almost to the home stretch! This pregnancy has flown by! I can't wait to feel my little man wiggle outside of my body!;) I know women say when their babies moved it was their favorite thing about being pregnant...I guess I'm weird, because I'm still not used to feeling random kicks and sudden movements in my stomach at all hours of the day and night! It is reassuring to know he is healthy and moving around in there though. I haven't really shared much about my pregnancy, so I thought I'd do a little pregnancy questionnaire, it will be good for me to have to look back on too!

Todays date: March 23, 2014

How many weeks pregnant are you?: 26 Weeks 3 days

How many days until your due date?: 95 days!

How big is baby?: As big as an eggplant. (9.2 inches, 2 lbs)

What milestones has your developing baby reached this week?: Eyes start to open

What are some of your pregnancy symptoms?: Heartburn, back & neck pain.

Any cravings?: Weirdly enough, I've craved side salads with ranch from steakhouses, baked potatoes, Sprite, and chips! :)

Food Aversions?: Not really, I'm not picky!

What was your best moment this week?: My husband took me on a "babymoon" to the beach and I woke up at 3 a.m. in the hotel room and just stared at him while he slept, praying for him and thanking God that he gave him to me to be the father of our son. It was a really special sentimental moment. :)

What are you looking forward to next week?: Being in the 3rd trimester!

What emotions have you been experiencing this week?: It's been a very emotional week for me, I was slightly depressed of how big I am getting, and knowing that I'm only going to get bigger in the next 14 weeks doesn't help to think about. Also, I am planning to have a natural, water birth, so sometimes I randomly get very insecure about whether I can "do it" or not.

Are you wearing maternity clothes yet?: Oh yes, I'm carrying very low, so I can't wear any of my regular skirts, but I can still wear most of my shirts.

Have any stretch marks?: Not yet, PRAISE God. Hopefully that stays that way! Cocoa butter, please don't fail me.

How much weight have you gained?: 16 lbs. I think...going to the midwife this week.

Has your belly button popped out?: No, and I really think that's gross! I will totally put a band aid over it, if it does!

Have you felt any kicks?: Oh yes, all day and night. My son is definitely going to be a soccer player like his daddy!

Know the gender yet?: He is 100% a boy! :)

Have you decided on a name?: Luke Daniel ♥

What has dad been up to this week?: He has been running lots, training for his upcoming 5K.

How has your sleep been?: Umm...not the greatest, I wake up a lot.

Any guesses when you will go into labor?: June 24!

That was fun, now here's my outfit! I am wearing Mr. Luke's nursery colors today, lime & navy! I absolutely love lime and navy, and thought it was a different color scheme for a boy's room. He is going to have a preppy, nautical theme with Lacoste alligator looking bedding. It's super cute!

25 Weeks: Church Pajamas

Yes, you read that right church pajamas! ;) If you've never heard of that saying and you're wondering if I went to church in my literal pajamas…Not quite, but I was just as comfy! I call my maxi skirts/dresses church pajamas, because they are SO easy and comfortable. Truth is, today I woke up at 9:00 a.m. and I have to be at church at 9:45 to teach Sunday School, and I of course didn't pick my outfit the night before. So, I quickly chose my church pajama dress today and got ready super fast! :) So, if you are in need of a cute, fast outfit, you can never fail with a maxi dress or skirt.

10 Reasons Why I'm Thankful for My Home Church

 photo ilovemychurch.jpg

For the past couple of weeks, I've been thinking a lot about the church I was reached through and how much I am indebted to that great place. If it weren't for God's grace, my parents, my pastors, and the church members, who knows where I'd be. Have you thought about that lately? Where would you be if you were never reached, or if your parents were never reached through your home church? Who would you be married to, if you never were saved? What would you be doing if you were never invited to church? Your whole life would be different. Not just a little different, you would literally be a WHOLE different person. It's crazy to think about all the what ifs! I start getting very thankful when I sit and think about where I'd be if it wasn't for my home church.

But, there are a lot of people that leave their home churches after they turn 18. They move away and head off to college, and go on to find their own beliefs. Some, stay in the same type of church, others, leave church altogether. Many, are still searching to find what church is right for them.

But this post is for the 20-somethings who were reached in a good Bible-believing church.
Don't slap the hand that fed you.
When I say that, I mean don't forget who helped you have the good life you have today. Of course God is the reason we have everything we have, but also don't get too big for the people who influenced you and invested in your life. You didn't get where you are by your own doing. Your parents, your Pastors, your Pastor's wives, your teachers, your deacons, all had a part in making you into YOU. No matter where you go in life, always remember that and stay thankful for the church that reached you and your family.

I wrote down 10 reasons why I am thankful for my home church. I hope this is an encouragement to you. I hope when you go back to your hometown that you visit your home church and thank the people who have invested in your life. I try to always write my home Pastor and his wife to remind them that I am still thankful for their investment in my life. They always give all the glory to God, as they should, but I still like to give honor to whom honor is due. (Romans 13:7)

I am thankful that my church taught me how to…

1. Be saved. Obviously the most important decision any one can ever make is to know that they are on their way to Heaven. I am eternally grateful to my Pastor's wife, who shared the gospel with me as a 10 year old girl.

2. Walk with God. After I was saved, I was taught by my Youth Pastor how to have a personal relationship with God. I was given devotions, bible reading schedules, prayer lists, and so many tools that helped me learn how to talk to God on a daily basis.

3. Win Souls. When I was 15, my Youth Pastor's wife took me out door to door soul-winning with her, and taught me how to share the Gospel with people. I was so excited to learn how to help people know how to go to Heaven. When I went to Bible college, I was thankful I was taught how to win people to the Lord.

4. Surrender to God's Will. When I was in 10th grade, I felt like God wanted me to serve Him full time. I am so thankful I was taught how to surrender my own selfish dreams and follow God.

5. Influence Others. When I was a teenager, I caught the heart beat of my Pastor and Youth Pastor which was to change lives. I didn't want to just win people to the Lord, I wanted to learn how to disciple them to do the same, Go, Win, Baptize, and Teach.

6. Stay Pure. In the Youth Group, I heard so many sermons on purity. I am so thankful that I was taught that my body was meant to be saved for my husband and ONLY him. I never would have been able to walk down the aisle in a white dress if it wasn't for my church teaching me what the Bible says about purity.

7. Have a Heart for Missions. When I was 15 and 18, I got the opportunity to go on two missions trips. I went to Romania and Thailand. Those trips forever changed my life. I am still thankful for the experiences.

8. Have a Good Marriage. Growing up, I had many great examples of Godly marriages to learn from. I believe that is one reason why I have a phenomenal marriage now.

9. Tithe. When I received my first paycheck, I was excited to give my 10% back to God. I am thankful I was taught that tithing is not a terrible chore, but instead it's a chance for me to show God how much I love him and an opportunity to lay up treasures in Heaven.

10. Use My Talents for God's Glory. I am thankful my music director taught me how to use my talents of singing for the glory of God.

If you had/have a church that is still teaching you all of the above items, you should praise God today! Not many churches in the world teach you these VERY necessary things!

24 Weeks: Pink & Polka Dots

I've been eyeing this polka dot camisole in the Ann Taylor Outlet window for a couple of weeks, and just didn't try it on since I figured it wouldn't be long enough to go over this ever-growing bump! But, last week, I finally just tried it on, and was surprised how long and stretchy it was! I loved it, and loved that it was only $11 even more! I also love how many different colors I can pair this oh-so versatile top too!

Today, for church, I paired my new polka dot top with an older hot pink cardigan and a Motherhood maternity pencil skirt I found at a consignment store for $6. I feel so frugal today! :)

Pattern Mixing & Pregnant

Even though maternity clothes aren't that "stylish" per say…I don't want to use that as an excuse to be frumpy and lazy with my outfits during this pregnancy. I still have to attempt to be an inspiration to all the Modern Modesty followers! Although, there has been many days where I just felt like wearing sweats and a big t-shirt... I still have to teach, so I already have to get dressed, why not try my best to look my best?! I've been waking up earlier, (on time actually) haha, so I've had time to put a little more effort in getting ready in the mornings!

A couple of weeks ago, someone emailed me asking some tips on what to wear with an olive skirt. I gave her tons of ideas, and when I was giving her ideas, I remembered I haven't worn my olive Goodwill dress in a while! I only paid $3 for it, and it honestly isn't an exciting piece, but it is VERY re-mixable, I can come up with a hundred different outfits to go with this basic olive green dress.

Today, I paired it with my Sierra Brooke Striped Cardigan, a brown braided belt, and my leopard wedges from Payless! I feel so sassy mixing patterns with a baby bump…don't ask me why..haha

23 Weeks: Teal & Red

I can't believe I'm already 6 months pregnant! Time is flying!! I can't wait to hold my baby boy in my arms! I really don't mind being pregnant, I feel great! Other than the fact that maternity clothes are extremely expensive, and they aren't re-mixable like my pre-pregnancy wardrobe. I can still wear all my regular shirts and cardigans so that is helping me stretch my wardrobe a lot, but skirts are VERY hard to find! The best luck I've had has been at consignment shops and my friend let me borrow her maternity clothes which had lots of skirts and dresses in it! If I knew how to sew, I would totally make my own skirts!

We have an outlet mall 2 miles from our house, and luckily it has a Motherhood outlet in it, so I've been finding tons of dresses for a pretty good price. I found 5 dresses for $80 this past Friday, and I was super excited! Most of them are still a little too big for me, but you will see them on the blog soon. I bought this teal dress a couple of months ago. When I found it, I instantly pictured it with a red cardigan. I really like how this color combo turned out! I paired it with my leopard wedges, and my gold and red statement necklace. (Thanks Mom!)
