Polka Dots & Pearls

Do you have an outfit that is your husband's favorite? My husband loves polka dots & pearls on me! He always says, I look so classy in them. When ladies ask me for help on their style, the first thing I ask them is what their husband likes best on them. Men do have opinions, if you just ask them! Why wouldn't you want to dress to impress your man, first and foremost!? He is ultimately the one we want to look good for, right? There is no one I enjoy getting compliments from more than my husband!
So today, I wore his favorite! :)

I saw this video last night on Facebook, and I teared up listening to it! It's a MUST-listen!

If only every woman in the world could hear this, how much would this change how women think about themselves?! I fight this battle every day to remind myself I am daughter of the Risen King! No matter what so and so thinks about me, or what so and so says about me, nothing will change the fact that I am a child of the King! What a great truth that needs to be taught to every young girl, teenager, and adult woman! Security in God = a Peace that passes ALL understanding!
You are beautiful.
You are smart.
You are funny.
You are kind.
You are unique.
You are worthy of love and affection.
You are never too much,
and you are ALWAYS enough.
You are precious.
You are a diamond,
A rose, a pearl, the most stunning of all God's creation.

One Dress 3 Ways

I found this basic, olive green dress at Goodwill for $5, and even though by itself it's a plain, boring dress, my imagination ran wild when I saw it! I pictured so many different pieces with it! It's also a great example of how to transition a summer sleeveless dress into a fall dress! During my lunch break, I threw together 3 different ways to wear this dress.
This is what I wore to school today. (The scarf is brown..just doesn't look like it in this light!)
Here's the 3 different ways I styled this dress...literally I did this in 5 minutes, but if I had more time, I could've come up with 20!(The first picture is just to show you how basic and plain it is alone...)

Pinspired: Green & Cobalt

I am always looking for new ways to wear my favorite green skirt. Pinterest is such a great help in getting color inspirations and style ideas! It's where I go when I look at my closet and say, "I have NO idea what to wear with this item!" I always come away with NUMEROUS outfit ideas. So, I use pinterest as a search engine, and search whatever piece I want to wear, and thousands of outfits will come up! I love you, pinterest creator! Here's the pinned outfit from Mix & Match Fashion that inspired today's outfit.



My favorite outfits always consist of a colored pencil skirt, striped shirt, & a cardigan. I am obsessed with striped shirts, I probably have over 15...I love that they can be dressed up for church or work and then dressed down with a simple jean skirt and flats.

Maxis & Monograms

Happy Friday! TGIF (Can you tell I'm a teacher?!) ;) Yesterday, when I was out looking for a nightstand for my bedroom at K-Mart, I moseyed my way over to the clothing section to see what was going on...
(I hadn't been in K-Mart in forever!) Luckily, they were having a huge sale, and I found the PERFECT fall maxi dress for $9! I'll be honest, I usually hate how maxi dresses/skirts look on me, and I almost didn't try this one on! But, I'm so glad I did, because it fits me great!
Many ladies have asked me if they could wear maxi dresses/skirts in the fall. The answer would be yes! Summery dresses can easily be made "fallish" by adding a cute jean jacket or cardigan over them. Especially, if you live in the South like me, and it's still in the 90's every day!

I paired my new maxi with a navy cardigan, brown belt, and my new gold "L" Monogram necklace! This was a perfect outfit to teach in all day!


I love getting to work along side my husband Monday-Friday, and in the ministry on the weekends, there in no great joy than to serve the Lord along side your man! :)

Cobalt & Stripes

I went thrift store shopping this weekend for the first time since I've moved down to Mississippi, and I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting to find anything good... But, boy was I wrong?!! I found lots of GREAT items!
There is a story behind the Dave Ramsey book...I have been praying to find one at a thrift store for about 4 months now, and my friend and I were about to leave the thrift store yesterday, and I remembered I didn't check the book section. So, we quickly ran back there, and lo and behold, it was right there waiting for me with a price tag of $1.59! I couldn't help but think God was showing me, He loved me, by putting all these great items in my path!
Here's my fabulous finds minus a brand new Mary Kay pink satin lipstick for 79 cents!! :)

I was really excited about finding this striped blazer, because I just bought a cobalt shirt Friday night, so the second I tried this jacket on, I knew it was meant to be paired with it!
I didn't waste any time, I wore my new cobalt shirt, blazer, and Nine West booties to church the next day!


Love my new (to me) Suede Nine West booties! Perfect for fall!!

Thrifty Thursday - Purple & Snakeskin

After I got dressed this morning, I noticed that my outfit was almost ALL thrifted! While living in Portland, Oregon for a year, I became a HUGE thrift store shopper! I'm a Christian school teacher, and if you didn't know this already...I'll let you know, we don't make the big bucks, so I HAVE to find good deals! Here's some tips for shopping in thrift stores...

1. Find thrift stores in "rich" areas, they usually have the best name brand clothes!

2. Don't just buy things because they fit you, make sure they're stylish or classic pieces too!

3. Stick to buying classic, solid pieces, they tend to not "look" like they from a thrift store.

4. ALWAYS check the shoe section, people give their nice shoes to thrift stores A LOT!
(half my shoes are from Goodwill!)

5. Pray before you go! I always find awesome things, when I pray!! :)
